SUMMARY:Breeders’ Cup Lecture
DESCRIPTION:The Breeders’ Cup is an annual two-day series of Grade 1 Thoroughbred horse races featuring the world’s top equine athletes competing for millions of dollars in prize money. Often referred to as the “World Championships” of horse racing\, the event draws international contenders to compete in 14 championship races across a variety of distances and track surfaces. Learn more about the Aiken trained horses who have won Breeders’ Cup races and gone on to be named national Champions. \nLisa Hall with the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame will talk about the history of the Belmont Stakes and the horses who received the blanket of pure white carnations\, which stand for love and luck. Lisa Hall has worked for the City of Aiken for 39 years.
